Last week, I finalized my Tampa itinerary for The Times-Tribune’s annual coverage of the New York Yankees and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders’ spring training. I’ll be headed south March 22-29 and cannot wait!
The Major League spring schedule has been out for quite a while now but since I’ll spend a majority of my time at the Minor League Complex on Himes Avenue, I was curious to know what the Minor League game schedule looked like. Today, I got my answer, per Yankees director of media relations Jason Zillo.
Games are scheduled to begin March 17, which is two weeks after minor leaguers who do not receive an invitation to big league camp report to Tampa. The final games are scheduled for March 30 with players breaking camp three days later. All games are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
Below is the full schedule. Please note that all games are not set in stone. From what I recall last year, two games were canceled due to the threat of inclement weather and intrasquad scrimmages were played in their place.
