It’s not often (ever, really) that a story about a bank, a helpless homeowner and a court proceeding ends happily, but Dave Falchek has one on the front page today.
Wayne Bank (Boo! Hiss!) agreed to withdraw foreclosure proceedings against a retired farmer recovering from a stroke after Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas Judge Terrence R. Nealon put some manners on its officials.
The Judge ordered Wayne Bank (Boo! Hiss!) Chief Financial Officer William S. Lance to appear in court and explain its campaign to throw Archie and Jane Anstey out of their Dalton home over three missed payments totaling about $1,500.
Rather than face a judge who is famous for his knowledge and command of legalese and not amused by the bank’s curt rejection of said judge’s earlier attempt to correct the situation, the CEO chickened out.
When Chuck Norris goes to bed at night, he checks his closet for Terry Nealon.
