Hello, and welcome to America’s Top 40.

Wait, what, no. Check that.

Welcome to me previewing the high school football season in July — even though I said I would never fall into this trap! But, I re-checked my calendar and yes, the season will start with or without me on Aug. 2 with the annual Media Day at the Regal Room. Now a couple of guys who I know (Tyler Musgrave and others) promised me that they will make sure to get me a plate of food, because the last two years, I have failed to eat at the luncheon. You know, when you are doing videos and interviews and hanging out with the new upperclassmen, it gets kind of busy. Food is the last thing on my mind. Plus, when you are 5-7, 237, I think it is fair to say, I can afford to miss a meal or two.

On Thursday, Conor Foley and I got together with Jason Farmer for our first photo shoot for Football 2016. Things are getting real now folks. I have to thank the fine people, especially a pair of former Valley View Cougars, Jeremy Ruby and Curt Camoni, for allowing us to invade PNC Field for the shoot. We had an awesome time and it’s always nice to talk with the kids. Things went pretty well, and I think they had a good time too.

And with that, it brings us to Blog Post No. 2. OK, since we took a look at quarterbacks who were underclassmen last season and their stats, let’s today look at some of the top linemen.

That’s right. I am showing some respect to the guys who do the heavy lifting. Look, when I played — Many, many, many years ago — I had the BEST offensive line in the old Big 11. They were big, strong and fast. They put time in the weight room and I think they averaged 245 pounds and for that era — that was HUGE! They are still dear friends to me today. I can never thank them enough for helping me earn the financial aid to play at Lafayette College.

So, without further delay — I just like saying that — Here are some of the top linemen who were underclassmen last season.
