On Feb. 3, 1959, rock n’ roll legends Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson and pilot Roger Peterson died in a plane crash in Clear Lake, Iowa. According to the article, a spokesman for the local chapter of the Buddy Club (a Buddy Holly Fan Club), Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens both played the Catholic Youth Center in 1958.
