Some who read my Sunday column about how phantom mechanic Dan Sansky began his lucrative non-employment with the Scranton School District noted some missing details — namely the names of the school board members who voted unanimously to hire Sansky as “fleet manager” in 2005.
Meeting minutes reflect that Sansky was to be hired as a subcontractor, but somewhere down the line he and his wife began collecting medical and dental benefits as if they were district employees. Sansky never filled out required IRS paperwork while banking $672,321 for work on district vehicles between 2010 and 2016.
I have the names of the directors and the assistant superintendent who were there, but chose not to publish them Sunday. I got the information late Friday and decided fairness demanded I at least attempt to give these people a chance to comment. I am doing that now, and will have more information in my Wednesday column.
This is a marathon, not a sprint. Thanks for reading.
