Whatever Louis DeNaples wants, Louis DeNaples usually gets. Or at least that’s been the case in his hometown of Dunmore. The wealthy casino, landfill and used auto parts magnate is seeking to have the life of his Keystone Landfill extended nearly another half-century, which means the borough, as well as the state DEP, must sign off on its increased height and attendant environmental impacts. Having secured the blessing of the zoning board in a 3-2 vote, DeNaples now must take his case to the borough council tonight. Public opposition to the expansion has been vigorous, though, so nothing is the slam dunk it once was.
