The recent deaths of designer Kate Spade and chef/author/humanist Anthony Bourdain have highlighted a disturbing and mysterious uptick in the nation’s suicide rate. Both were talented, intelligent, creative individuals who had pursued their passions to great financial reward. Consider, also, that the current 28-percent spike in suicides nationwide is occurring during a good economy with unemployment down and the stock market soaring. So, what gives?
