Good day, everyone!

I hope you all got a chance to check out the first in my three-part series that will remember the 2016-17 scholastic sports season that was. We began with a very thorough look back at the Fall Sports, and today will be the Winter Sports.

There was an incredible three-day spectacle at the Mohegan Sun Arena for the 12 District 2 championship basketball games.

We saw the end of two outstanding swimming careers, culminate in district and state medals, and commitments to Division I college programs.

There were some intense and outstanding bouts on the mats.

Who can forget the remarkable journey Abington Heights boys basketball team put together in the PIAA Class 5A playoffs where it went all the way to the semifinals?

And, of course, the Blizzard of 2017? That’s right a crippling snow storm in March put the postseason on hold for almost an entire week, and really put the powers that be into a crisis mode.

It was an incredible four months of achievement and accomplishments in the new expanded format in the PIAA:
