Day 5, like Day 1, was a busy travel day with three visits scheduled. There are few coaches who can energize a team at 9 a.m. like Dave Rebar at Mid Valley. And yes, somehow he got an old man to do Spartan Jacks with the team, again. Rebar has the Spartans believing in 2018 after a couple of District 2 Class 2A playoff appearances. There is a lot of excited and talented players.

Then, at West Scranton, there is a pretty good sized roster. And if you are a high school football fan and are — and I personally hate this phrase — sleeping on the Invaders, I would throw you some caution. Yes, the schedule is tough, and yes, they finished 1-9 last year. But, quarterback Nick Gioia is back after suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 1 against Dunmore last season. Kevin Williams and Mason Spano give the Invaders a couple of explosive backs. And they have good size on both sides of the ball.

The final stop, the 12th on the tour so far, was at Old Forge. Michael Schuback has another solid team. Dante Lucarelli, while only a sophomore, looks like a senior physically at quarterback, the Blue Devils have some size and some really talented receivers. Expect this team to have quite a bit of success this season in the LFC Division IV and District 2 Class 1A.
